I'm in the process of switching to the dark-side, and want to know how to properly choose a front mount intercooler. The block will be street ported, and I will be looking for 350-400hp. I havent choosen a turbo yet, but it will probably be a t04e.

So, how do I match an FMIC properly to this setup?

Thanks,

well theres a couple choices.

1. the greddy is cheap, and works well

2. size up a custom core, basically you cant go too big, cause theres limited space for the core. if you stick the core under the hood latch you get about 26"x11"x3" to play with, and you want to set it up so that the piping and endtanks are good. also give thought to where the pipes run, you can run them under or around the side of the radiator, it just depends on how much cutting you want to do.

3. is to size up a larger top mount core, or a water to air top mount setup, with the ac condensor as the water cooler.

4. the stock top mount runs about 70% this is ok, and if you add like water injection it might work really well for a mild street setup

everyone knows you have to have a HUGE hks front mount to be fast... duh

The Greddy is plenty big for a TO4E. I am running one with a TDO7 which is a bigger turbine and it is working awesome.

No idea, I take my car to a shop for tuning.

when you say using the AC as a water cooler, how would you run the piping for this? I was tossing this idea around for a while but wasn't sure if it was very feesible or not.

well the condensor is threaded, so i'd just run new lines, you could even mostly mirror the stock routing. this is more of a thought for me cause that stuff is long gone on my car

yeah i've got it out of my car currently but i was really wanting to put the AC back in, problem is tho i was thinking when i switch up to the larger turbo if it would get in the way. Any thoughts?( for the general populace im putting my car damn near back to a mix and match stock state, all stock interior, including the rear carbet/sound dampener, etc. I'd like the AC in but if i can't have that with my fmic and the new turbo, so be it.)

most of the kits are designed to be used with the ac
