How would you do a coolant pressure test to see if the seals are good, and what kind of readings are we looking at?

step 1: obtain pressure tester 2/proper adapter for your filler neck.

step 2: attach tester

step 3: pump tester until gauge indicates pressure your radiator cap is rated for

step 4: observe gauge to see if pressure drops over time while observing engine bay for drips...



there you go.

You can rent the pressure testers at Auto Zone. However, when I rented one it did not have the adapter to fit the cap. However, you might have to order that from the company that makes the tester.

Just don't run that pressure past 16psi or you could pop a water seal. What I did and was taught with a rotary..Pump it to about 13-15max slowly and make sure it holds the pressure....I know you already know this, but there are people who went to high and pooof! over
