This is a question I've never had answered properly. What's the difference between horsepower and torque? What are their relationship to each other, and how does it affect and FC? I know they kind of sound like silly questions, but I've never been able to figure it out. thanks in advance.

All I'm saying is that we have Rx7s. So what do we prefer? HP..rotaries are NOT known for torque!

Horse Power Is from what I know what gives you top speed and what builds speed. And torque is what gets you moving. I raced an RX-7 in my Beretta GTU 5 Speed now mind you my beretta has 160 ftlb torque and 120 hp I took out the rx-7 out the whole horibly left it in the dust but as second gear came around the rx started catching up and as we got on the high way the rx7 left me like way behind. torque is good for

1/4 mile and aceleration. hp is good for top speed. FROM WHAT I KNOW ! ! ! ! !

that did not help and it is not kind of acurate do the math for the torque of an fc and the figure is all fuged up.

that's what it is, they are the same, read also about HP. And yea that # might be fucked up becuase it is for a piston engine not a rotary but you coudlent really tell inless you dynoed a car then did the math becuase the #'s your goin off of are factory #'s not the same for all cars and bent to fit the market.

torque is turning power, hp is just a deritive; a mathmatical number derived from torque.

torque is what pulls and moves the car, hp is what makes it go forward and faster.
