Hi guys,



I have a sa22c rx7 with gen2 turbo engine.



Now my problem is, every time I used it for Drag racing I get a lot of high RPM hesitation or like chocking around 6000+++RPM @ WOT.

But if use it normally or press the pedal slowly until redline I get no problems.



This usually occurs in 1st and 2nd gear but I haven't felt it in 3rd gear yet.



I am using and FCD and unknown In line External pump.



I do not also know what is the stock boost setting for the gen 2, 13bt or the turbo 2 engine as I am reading 1 bar at my gauge.



Is this right? or am i overboosting.

Stock boost for the S4 was around 6 or 7 psi, the S5 just a tad higher, as I recall. At one bar, you are clearly overboosting. My guess is you are going very lean at WOT. The stock internal wastegate is easily overwhelmed once you open up the intake and exhaust on these engines. Porting the wastegate to increase flow is a good idea.



If you intend to run the boost up around 1 bar, you should also consider larger secondary injectors. Consider also a wideband O2 sensor so you can monitor air/fuel ratio.



Oh, and going lean at WOT on a boosted rotary is a sure way to kill your engine.

Just as i suspected, I am over boosting.



Anyway, ill check wastegate and alike for fault.

Actually, im just using the stock internal waste gate as of now. Everything on my RX7 is stock 13b-t but im planning to upgrade it sooner or later as i have finished my Toyota gt turbo project and my mr2 is "under knife" right now.



There's no really dependable shops or mechanic here in the phil. that i know who tweaks rotaries so im a bit hesitant to "open" it. im just planning to put FMIC, upgrade pump and full 3inch exhaust.



What do you think?
