Pending the disassembly of the 4 piston FC calipers I got, I'm looking to purchase some nice rotors and pads. These are going on my FB, so this might be overkill, but I want to do something nice and I wanted to see what you FC guys are running.

PowerSlot/Brembo/Project Mu?

Opinions?

I either run Mazda OEM rotors or Brembo blanks. I'm actually in the process of tryin to procure some brembo blanks.

BTW if you brembos are drilled or slotted and they say it's for a FC, they are FAKE!

pads. I will be running EBC yellows. I wish they had arrived. I'm giong to be racing on the HPS which suck. Good thing it's raining this weekend so i won't be over using the pads.

Don't run Hawk HPS. They still dust, and the rears never get hot enough, so that it eats the rear rotors up good.

I would try EBC green for street, or try something from Satisfied Brakes. http://www.satisfiedbrakes.com/gransport/ I was riding in a 2nd gen fully prepped car for HPDE / SOLO1 racing with their GS3 line pads and that thing had the greatest braking force i've ever sat in for a production car. They are however 300 USD for the pads or more. I asked for sponsorship but they already maxed out their sponsorship for SOLO1 racing this year. Hence i tried EBC yellow at only 120 per set. I have not tried their GS5 pad or GS6 pad (satisfied) but other with mustangs I know like them al ot.

For brake fluid don't use that FORD stuff. It has high dry point boiling. But any little bit of water caues that boiling piont to drop drastically! it loves water.

Try ate super blue racing.

Hmmm...so Brembo doesn't make cross-drilled/slotted rotors for the FC? Thanks for the info, I'll continue to shop...

I'm just very afraid of wrecking this car if/when I get it done (https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR) simply because I've never driven a RWD turbo car, or one that's going to be as powerful as I hope this one is...

spinning out is scary.

i just ordered EBC Greenstuff pads. I will be using OEM rotors. I will post my opinions after the install.

Ebc's are the worst pads ever produced! and you are saying you cant get the Hawks hot enough? Mine get plenty hot. I can run up to 100 mph and get back down pretty damn fast, no fading nothing, I love my Hawk's. I also have an Mx3 (KLDE swap) with Satisfied Pro pads and crossdrilled and slotted rotors, it will stop faster than the seven, and it has the smallest brakes I have ever seen.

So as far as Hawk's being crap I wouldnt belive that. Sound to me like someone didnt seat them in right.

I don't get them hot enough when I drive them to work. Stop and go traffic in 1st and 2nd doesn't doo anything to those brakes. The rear rotors were brand new less than 10,000 kms ago. The thickness is 18.7XX mm. According to Mazda FSM min should be 20 mm. Brand new is 22 mm. I have a wear ridge that is 1 mm higher than the rest because the pads don't fully contact the rotor surface.

I havent had any trouble out of mine other than the fact that they are noisy. You might want to do some checking on you brakes it sounds like you have a problem. I have had mine on for approx. 5k miles and the rotors on the back show less than 1 mm of wear, my front on the other hand show the braking.

I run powerslots with Axxis Metal Master pads

I use Hawk HP+ on the front with OEM rotors & motul 600. They stop great but are very noisy and dusty.

fc3s4utnv 05-27-2005 04:20 PM

Motul is some high dollar stuff though.
