I just did the tb mod on my 1990 NA and am happy with the results. The only problem is that i can't get the idle to go below 2000 rpm. I adjusted the TPS and turned the idle screw in as far as it could go. My guess is that the problem is with the BAC but i don't know, and even if it is, i have no idea how to fix it. any ideas?

check your thottle cable to make sure its not too tight or sticking and make sure your throttle plates are closing all the way when the throttle is not being pressed

I thought you screw it out to lower the idle. I dunno, I dont have anything to adjust my idle. It goes where it feels.

Does the TB mod involve messing with the fast idle cam? I can't remember. If not I would look there. you can adjust how open or closed the throttle plates are with that.

the set scew with the 8mm nut will lower the idle if you rotate it counter clock wise (unscrew it)

seem like cable. Make sure they are seated in the brackets properly.

If you adjust the butterflies you have to adjust the tps.

Also check your dashpot. They go bad sometimes. If they seize they can cause these symptoms

Did you remove the fast idle cam?? if you didnt remove the fast idle cam after doing the TB mod the spring loaded arm can catch and keep your throttle from closing all the way, I had this problem right after as well.

no. i left the fast idle cam on but its not attached to anything. it just seemed easier to leave it. it was just the throttle cable was too tight. i didn't even look at it after i put it back on. thanks for the help.
