Hey guys im new to the site but not to 7's. Just had a big problem yesterday and now my car is helpless, heres the story.

Ok my 7 finally got on the road again earlier today after getting the new tranny installed.

Well i always needed spray to start the car after sitting over night, and then its usually fine starting all day. However today it seemed to be harder and harder to start every time i tried. After about 6 trips through out the day i was on my final drive home (almost 12 hours later) and the car took almost 30 seconds and 3 attempts to start. Then on the way home i was driving as normal and came to a stop sign. The car shut off and refused to start from then on.

It wont even think of turnin over unless i spray some starter fluid and even then it kicks up to 750 for a few seconds and shuts off. As far as my limited knowledge tells me, i think its some type of fuel issue, most likely the pump. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

def a fuel issue. change the filter and test the pump and injectors. factory service manual can be found at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com

starting fluid on a rotary is a no-no, it dries out rings on a piston motor, brittle apex seals would suck.

Anyway, its the only way my engine will cold start, what else can i do. Im gonan check the pump tonight, and no matter what the problem is on gonna chnge the filter while im at it.

change the filter first and try it. that solved a hard start problem on another members gslse.
