Well, it seems as though you've made uo your mind to purchase a TII. Couldn't agree more, but finding one in decent shape may be quite a problem. If excellent condition, people are asking a great deal of money. If rough, you can buy fairly inexpensive, but will cost a lot of money to get fixed. Your choice.

See my cousin knows ppl that has rx-7's turbo 2 for sale but idk if i should buy one because ppl told me that they bring alot of problems but i still like them but idk if is hould......Like fill me in on the details on whats so wrong aobut the car and see if i should get it for my first car.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Welcome to NP. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Find one that's bone stock and leave it that way for a while, engine-wise anyway. Then as you learn what's what with the turbo rotary and all it's nuances, you can begin the inevitable upgrade path.

Cheers

I think you should research alot first. This forum has tons of info, and if you don't find wat u need, theres like a million more forums. You might wanna learn about wat u should and shouldn't do to a t2, or wat is really the difference between na and t2, its not just the turbo. I got my NA for $800 and after about another $1800 I run in the 14's on 1/4 mile. So, i'm sayin you should research both cars, and see wat you can do to both and the cost factor. And you say you're driving for the first time, meaning your like 16, and you want a cool car to show your friends and all that, the only thing you should really worry about is how to fix your car. Things will break on a car over 20 years old, and you better hope you can fix it, cuz parts aren't cheap.

Joelito 01-18-2005 03:17 PM

Thanks guys...... I have done alot of research on these cars cuz i been in love with them since i was like 8 years old when i first got into my Cousin Turbo 2 that was running 378hp. After that day i've been in luv with them but yea i know rotories love to be a hooch andMake u love them or hate them u jus gotta treat them ryte. But the N/a and T2 wise.... Well from what i read in Rx-7 club before when it use to be its own form but i've read that you really cant do anything to The N/a becuz there r jus built that if u would like Change sumthin its like remodifing the whole engine and stuff and form what i research The N/a seems like a Civc....... I dont wanna put like close ot 2 gz in a car and only running 14's that wou;d jus make me fall asleep and feel dumb for showin a rotary engine like that When i almost spent 2gz..... Cuz i know the 13b in a t2 is like A integra type-r Running Mid 14's Jus Stock and aorund the street they cost like what 3gz??????..... Well in florida they do.... But i jus wanna know one thing do they break really easy? like i dont have a problem... Fixing it but if its gonna break like everyday and be a lil bitch and not work then. Ill jus go with a simple car but no matter what imma end up with an rx-7 lol.... But if u guys could teahch me a few things on what the pros and cons about the Turbo 2 are thjat would be great........

But i will say this **** That felix Wankel guy really did Sumthin that is jus hella crazi a 1.3L Kickin the **** out of Domestic cars which r lke V8's thats pretty ****** bad........ Like a 450hp= a 800hp depending on how heavy the engine is on a Rx-7... am i ryte??????<-------- i know im https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683621.gif with that one....... But over the summer imma see whiich car to aim for an i wanna know now which car i should aim for..... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

well don't count on beating too many v-8's with a stock t2. Stock they run 15.2 and I can't find one near me for less than 3.5-4g's.

For N/A's you don't have to tear down the engine to hit 14's, i havn't. and stock times for NA is like near 17.

Are you trying to get a car so you could race 1/4mile? cuz thats the only reason i'd ever compare any honda to an rx-7. becuz my buddies civic hatch can beat my brothers FD all day in the quarter mile, but when we autocross, my times are faster than both of theirs.

And do they break easy... well one day I went outside and pulled on my pass. side door handle and it just broke. No warning. and One day I was driving in the rain, and coincidentally my wiper switch stopped working. But this is just me. I take great care of my car, but things will break, most of the time its more of things just stop working. But its nothing that can't be fixed easily. as long as you know how to fix your car, you'll be fine. You gotta expect something to break sometime.

Since you kinda have your mind set on a t2, research the basic upgrades. What not to do, and wat to do, and also what needs to be done for one thing to work. Like racing beat exhaust and an FCD = (from what i've read) BOOM! So theres a lot to be learnt.

Shane.Trammell 01-18-2005 04:32 PM

id say get a gslse and use that to learn on. the car is pretty quick and quite a bit of power can be had by just upgrading the exhaust and other little things. mine is basically stock and its faster than my vert

Shane.Trammell 01-18-2005 04:33 PM

double post

Joelito 01-18-2005 05:20 PM

hmmmmmm...... that sounds likee fun fixin ****.... Ill do some more research but if u guys can keep postin ssome more things about the car that would be great https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Shane.Trammell 01-18-2005 05:25 PM

the gslse is much easier to work on than the fc

Joelito 01-18-2005 05:27 PM

And can anyone Tell me where i can find a T2 cheap in good acondition?????

Shane.Trammell 01-18-2005 05:39 PM

Joelito 01-18-2005 06:03 PM

nooooo imsayin where can i find a Rx-7 t2 cheap...... Now which price is cheaper.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif lol

StockFC 01-18-2005 06:21 PM

hahaha omg noob, he's asking you wat price you consider cheap for a t2.

MrDirt 01-18-2005 10:07 PM

When I was first looking at getting an FC, I definately wanted to go TII. Of course I had to make some compromises at first because of insurance costs. My first was an 88 GXL, and it was a great car to learn on. Even a stock TII has enough power to bite if you aren't careful. While a 14 second quarter mile might seem slow to talk about, once you are behind the wheel it's a whole different story. My suggestion would be to find a cheap N/A and do suspension modifications. Learning to drive a slow car at its limits first will really help you dial in your technique before moving onto more power and better handling. For what you could pay for a decent N/A, you'd have plenty of money left to modify suspension, brakes, and anything else needed to convert to turbo later.

CrassFC3S 01-19-2005 02:35 AM

first off let me quote you, "The N/a seems like a Civc....... I dont wanna put like close ot 2 gz in a car and only running 14's " now that is out of the way let me just say you need to buy a ******* dictionary not a car and stop acting as if youve done research its quite apparent you havent, the fact you ******* compare a fc of any form to a civic is completly retarded... youre a ******* dolt and i hope to god you never own a car let alone a turbo rotary

extremefc3s 01-19-2005 10:28 AM

i know were i can get my hands on a t2 for 5g's and that i consider cheap https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

SPD Racing FC 01-19-2005 07:47 PM
