I was wondering if anyone had a diagram that shows the vacuum lines on the back of the throttle body and where they go. I want to make sure my lines are in the right places. I couldnt find it in the service manual.

I had the same problem too. It doesnt matter they all pull from the same vacuum source. Just make sure the big vacuum line goes on the big nipple, other than that it doesnt matter.

sidewinderx7 01-09-2004 12:08 AM

dramon its not funny having frank as your avatar

1Revvin7 01-11-2004 03:31 AM

Leave that **** in Gen D pls!

RacerX, if he does not have emissions he can cap atleast 2 if not 3 of the nipples on the TB depending on the series..

sidewinderx7 01-11-2004 04:11 AM

i have no emissions on the car, the front side of the TB vacuum is all capped off and the rats nest is gone. Im mainly speaking of the back ot the TB, im just iffy on 2 of them. i believe its right, but just checking. Good god my lazy ass needs to take pictures. :( My camera is sitting no less than a foot away, the usb cable is sticking connected to it, and my garage is about 50 feet away. why god, why am i so lazy?!

well since thats a 3rd gen vacuum diagram...it will not

okay now, you have no rats nest, and no emissions or anything....are you retaining the thermowax (see: otherpost by you) .... if not...then thats one less vac line

on my car...with no thermowax, no BACV, no emissions...i have 3 vac lines running in the back of my UIM/TB area

1. from UIM > FPR

2. from UIM > nipple in middle of LIM near primary rail

3. from UIM > nipple on side of LIM where cold start used to go to

4. big nipple on UIM > capped off

the 3 on the front of the UIM are capped off

the TB has no vac lines on my car...i took off the thermowax, dashpot, double throttle, and all that ****, and since i have no BACV and thermowax theres no coolant running through it...so i have the TPS on my TB and al the holes / nipples that are still there capped off (like the coolant lines)

and to just finish up the rest of my vacuum routing....on the UIM nipple on the top i have a line going to a 4 way T connector...off that T i have:

1. MAP sensor (you still have AFM? cap one hole)

2. BOV

3. wastegate

4. boost gauge

- mike

ps. if most of that didnt make sense, i can take pics

sidewinderx7 01-11-2004 11:51 PM

i pretty much have the exact setup as you already. The only reason the thermowax is still there is because i dont have a block off plate for it right now :( but yeah, i got it all worked out now, thanks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR

hm....i dont remember blocking it off.

...i think i did a little jb weld....its a small hole?...like REAL small? use jb weld

do you have standalone or stock ecu? while that shits off you can take off some more BS

boost_creep 01-11-2004 11:58 PM

Sorry thought you had a third Gen.

pssst.... 2nd Generation Specific

boost_creep 01-12-2004 12:29 AM

OK, OK I screwed up https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif , I could help you if I had a scanner. I got the correct info from my service manual https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png .

Top - goes to center vacuum line from middle of LIM next to secondary inj's.

Middle - goes to vacuum connector between oil injectirs on LIM.

Bottom - larget of vacuum lines goes to vacuum spider.

Now I hope that helps https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif .

boost_creep 01-12-2004 12:35 AM

If your UIM has only two vacuum connectors then it is oil inj. and vacuum spider. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

sidewinderx7 01-12-2004 01:22 AM

i got it all taken care of... i just finished the TB mod. I was lazy and didnt want to finish it ... but i did. So its all good now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png and i also found my block off plate for the idle control! TB looks clean since i took all the ugly **** off and jb welded the old butter fly holes shut. i'll snap pictures.

i would suggest to use that as a temporary fix......dont be lazy and not get them plugged/welded shut..... theyre large holes and over time might suck in the jb weld, creating huge vac leaks and sucking in big chunks of whatever jb weld is, maybe cuasing damage

sidewinderx7 01-12-2004 03:30 PM

ive always heard of people using jb weld on them and having no problems. *shrug*

i thought about this also, but jb weld seems to work well. When i install the microtech im going to do a few other things also, i should toss it on the list to be welded.

I wouldn't recomend using JB weld for those holes. If you still have the TB off, I'll grab some loctite, a tap and 2 set screws from my work tomorrow...

Just wait till you see what I'm making for my car, everyone on here will want one. I'll post pics when its done.
