If you own a 1st gen it's well worth visiting. Heck for any generation for that matter tho he's pretty much 1st gen only.

His site is great for anyone who has a rotary. There's alot of general information there.

You will get some fuel smell from under the hood as there is the fuel vapor canister located on the right wheel well .It will give off a sharp fuel smell especially on warm days. :smilewinkgrin:

Fuel smell under the hood of a rotary? I'd look for that before I ran that car again. Make sure the infamous pulsation damper isn't leaking. You don't want to go out in a blaze of glory. :newburn:

How do I locate the pulsation damper and what does it look like.?

when I remove the upper itake manifold to check this do I need to replace the intake gasket?

If the gasket is still good then leave it on there. Just use some silicone on it to ensure a good seal.

Okay now if the damper is bad I need to pay like a hundred dollars for a new one or I can replace it with a 88-91 fuel rail. Or would I be better off just getting an aftermarket fuel rail? If so who makes one any links?

I would just take the pulsation damper out and plug the hole with a bolt. Just make sure to use a washer, and maybe some teflon tape.



The 89-91 fuel rail will also work.
