I just took my car out of storage yesterday and noticed a few problems again that i had left from the summer before. The Idle jumps from about 850 to 1150 all the time now, whether the car is warm or cold. Also, when I drive at anything other than a grandparents pace, my powersteering goes out. Is this just a loose or worn belt? I have not had the time to get under the hood and check this out yet but any help as to where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.

Thats probably a power steering computer or electrical problem. The faster you go the less output it uses for the power steering. But it sounds like it's a little screwed up.

I would drive it a little longer, give it a good run. Things need to settle down again. There is probably a slush of oil sitting on the power steering switch which is located on the bottom, get that oil hot again, check the level and give it lock to lock turns to work out the system. I had the similar problems, car didn't want to be waken up after a long sleep.



C
