Ok so i just bought this intake of ebay and you guys helped me before on what i needed to buy that adapter off ebay and i did and i have it on my car with the filter. Now what I need is after you remove the stock airbox from the engine, ther's an air pump hose that connects to the factory airbox and there's no place to put it with the new intake on, so what im asking is what do i do with that air pump hose or where do i put it? Thx alot. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

get a breather filter for it. A few bucks at local parts places

I used to but i dont have it anymore. Now my air pump and everything is removed. It basicly is a minature intake filter though.

How can i remove my my air pump without ****** everything up cause its says to never remove on the pump itself?

Seppuku 02-13-2004 07:34 PM

well if you have to pass emmsions and testing where your at you cant remvoe it. But if your cats are gone and you have no need for it all you need to do is take the pump out(4 bolts i think?) and remove the belt then block off the acv.

drunkin_idiot 02-13-2004 07:36 PM

It wont hurt the engine? even though it says dont remove air pump?

No need to remove your air pump. Just goto your local auto parts store and get a breather filter. Clamp it to the end of your air pump hose. They are like $10 for a universal one.

Like this one.

Sorry if it may have came across like you needed to remove the air pump. I thought my posts were clear that i had only removed mine and i couldnt get a pic, guess not.

The only breather filters I could find at stores near me only go as big as 3/8" opening. Are there any online with a 3/4" or 7/8" opening?

Seppuku 02-14-2004 12:35 AM

i think mine was a 3/8s i remember i had to clamp it down pretty good.

the airpump just for emisions so unless ur in cali dont worry. i just put a screen and tightened around with clamp its not important at all.

i thought in an s5( maybe s4?) in an NA it controlled the 5th and 6th ports opening? im prolly wrong.

CGeek2k 02-18-2004 02:41 PM

s4's are exhaust actuated. s5's are actuated by the air pump.
