anyone know where i could possibly get a stock or aftermarket leading ignition coil or igniter for my 1986 rx-7 gxl. i checked to see if there was power to it and there was so im thinking it could be the igniter under it but id rather just get a whole new one. anyone know?

I'd use a timing light to test it... I've had problems with the power connections before

And i'd check the parts for sale wanted section

Junkyard or ebay, used, they are cheap and plentyful. Did you check you have power at the plug of the harness? Did you pull the plug wire out a little to see if it shoots out spark without killing yourself https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png ?

ok heres what i did ive been working on my car ive already installed a new fuel pump and i know that fuel and compression arnt the problems anyway. to answer your questions.

i checked voltage at the coil with multimeter couple weeks back and i just had my dad bring it back so i can see if the ignitor isnt switching on and off so now i am going to check that tommarow. but yea today i held the wire in my hand and turned the car over after many ghetto ignition tests failed and no shock lol.

And the car is running on trailings right? Well if you have power at the harness plug but nothing shoots out then you can have a bad leading. Are you plugs good, new or used I had problems with the coil not firing cause the plugs were bad and not completing the circuit even when new. Make sure the coil is gound tightly to the chassis too.

As these cars get old, is always a good idea to stack up on coils from used cars.

the car doesnt run at all i know the spark plugs are good the trailings fire white spark when you turn it over but the leading coil is bad so i guess ihave to buy a new one im calling around trying to find some
