Hey all, i have a 86 mazda rx-7 that has been completely finished with all the goods!!! i mean everything exept for engine mods. Recently i bridge ported the engine to make more power and was expecting huge gains! Now i have put the motor back in the car and can notice only a little improvment. Do you think that by removing the main catalic converter i can expect to see a noticable gain in power? also, are there any better mass air flow sensors that a guy could put on? thank a lot!!, ill post some pictures in the near future. thanks, Doctor Dave

my email if you like for whatever reason is blairmorga@hotmail.com

if you're running stock exhaust on a bp, you are loosing all the porting gains.....

get a header, high flow cat, and catback exhaust of your choice. corksport has a lot of good stuff. 2.5" - 3" exhaust pipe should do great on an n/a, or 3" - 3.5" pipe for turbo. the best thing you can do for more power (other than engine swap) is probably install a turbo kit, but it ain't cheap.

the only way to utilize the bridge port or p ports are to have a free flowing intake and exhuast DUH!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

Ok, yea...wow... um, you really want to open up the intake and exhaust. You'll never seen the gains with stock stuff around a built motor...

Also, since your asking about the stock MAF, i'm going to assume you have the stock ECU..to really begin using the gains of a bridge port, get rid of the stock ECU as well...

Did you do half bridge or full bridge? did you streetport the primary ports as well or leave them as is?
