Okay guys. Hes the dilly-o

A friend gave me a turbo2 that he dosent want to deal with anymore. Hes gonna go buy a RX7 from another guy locally.

Anywyas the cars been sitting for 4 years ran before parked now dosent run

When you try and turn it over it sounds like it wants to turn over but dosent want too. Ive replaced so far:

Gas

Battery

Plugs/Wires

Fuses

Also It seems like some guy messed with the nuetral safty switch when you try to turn the car over while its in gear the car will move..dunno..any suggestions would be great.

oh yeah the car is a 87 turbo2. with 150k miles.

Try the unflooding procedure.

Basically, pull the EGI fuses and spark plugs, crank the engine over for a couple 10 second bursts, then put it together and try to start it.

When I first got my car, doing the above procedure filled the garage with a fuel mist that you could hardly see through. Probably best to avoid open flames.

While you've got the plugs out would be a good time to do a compression check.

And what fuses did you have to replace? Were they blown? This could very well point you to a trouble spot.

sounds like what my gslse was doing and it was just flooded. just do the ghetto compression test and if thats alright try to unflood.

this is the ghetto compression test:

pull out a 1 spark plug. turn the engine over and if you hear 3 pretty loud and completely even "wooshes" compression on that rotor is probably good. go to the other rotor and do the same thing. if you get 1 loud woosh and 2 weak ones you have a bad apex seal, if all wooshes are quiet youve got more than 1 bad one. youll know when the woosh is loud enough.

also try the atf trick as the engine could be a little stuck from sitting for so long.

ok this may sound crazy but do this to get it running.

must have a friend to help you.

1. try to crank it if it doesnt crank push gas once, then try again.

2. if it hasnt cranked by now popup the plastic like rubber piece on ur intake spray auto tranny fluid into it.

3. get something to clamp on the gas line to keep the gas from flowing into ur engine.

4. try to crank it hold keep down for about 10-30 secs.

5. let go of gas line , spray a little more auto tranny fluid into intake then repeat step 4....

it should get the job done, but it will smoke like hell for a good 15-30 mins.....the auto tranny fluid helps build the compression back into the engine. had to do this to my car few times cus i let my evil honda driving friends try to drive https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif "note, they are not allowed to even touch the 7 anymore....lol"

And make sure you have an extra set of spark plugs as the ATF likes to foul out plugs.

Thanks for the help.

Try this, their is a relay under the dash to the right of the steering column, find it pull it out and as you are cranking put it back in. If you have some talent or long arms you can do it. I have to start my car like this everyday, it is due to the fact of poor compresion probably nothing else.
