I took my engine apart today. The rear rotor housing was scrapped up bad, the rear plate is chipped and there was a 3/8 inch hole in the rotor. :o I know you have all heard of that -- read the next line.
I have a six port engine. On closer inspection I found that one of the bars in the port valves had broken out of the valve and was sucked into the chamber. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png |
OUCH!

We ought to compile a list of how our engines met their doom. That sounds like one of the more intresting ones.
JEEZ..... that sucks!
Interesting, post a pic of the 3/8 hole if you can I would like to see that. Hey man you are mighty close here in Wa., You should meet up with us one of these days.
That's the first time I've ever heard of that...we have a poineer on our hands.
I'll post some pics as soon as I can. The engine is up at Western Washington University, so it will be next week. Sorry about that.
That would be cool to get together with someone in this area sometime. |
That would be cool. So are you a student up there? I just finished up, glad to be done for a while. I might waste a little money on a correspondence course that looked cool. I had to get a prerequisite out of the way first so I am good to go now.
Yes I'm a student at the Vehicle Research institute at Western. It is a fun course and I am learning a lot. Heres the web address if you want to check it out. VRI at western vri.etec.wwu.edu .
