I bought a FC convertible in March. Aside from a FPD leak that I fixed with a Marren FPD, the engine runs fine. The car has 350000kms (~218000 miles). I have no history on the engine. How can I tell if its been replaced or even rebuilt? I can't seem to find a serial number.

If you take care of it, it should last you awhile.

These rx-7's are SPORTS cars!! As long as you maintain them like a fleet vehicle. IE;change oil regularly. Check tire pressure. Rotate tires. DON'T OVER REV! etc. You shouldn't have any probs. They are fun to drive!!!!(2-cycle oil in the fuel helps)1/2 oz per gal fuel for daily driving.

every fleet vehicle i've worked on was a POS, usually because the fleet company would argue with us over what repairs needed to be made and go for the cheapest parts possible lol

If it has a mazda reman there will be a blue tag on the front cover near the A/C...

Otherwise some shops stamp on the top of the rotor housings, near the oil filler neck..

the really old, pre 96-97 mazda reman's are just stamped with a date on the front rotor housing, they switched to the blue tag in 95-96
