I saw some real cheap cone air filters on ebay for like 10-15 bucks which include the air filter and adapter. Are those safe to use or are they bogus. There were also some k&N kits for $35-40 I would feel more comfortable with, but if the cheap ones are good Id rather buy that for now.

How long have you had it on. By the way I have an 88 convertable also.
|

yeah i get mine (cheap 20 doller filter) at a ricer place down in town called Xtream Image.
Man the place sucks, but hey the filters are cheap... i dont bother cleaning them, i just buy a new one. 20 bucks aint that bad... Markus |
I also have one, my only complaint would be if you get the one with the plastic adapter it's slightly smaller than the stock afm opening, but a dremel and about 10 minutes will fix that

Thanks for the input.

aaaaaaassssssssss raping
hehe mine works well, got the k&n cleaning stuff, it does the job |
never tried it
|
I had one awhile back, before I got my Apexi filter...it worked fine I guess...better than the stock air box. My buddy had the same thing on his MR2 turbo, and it was just peachy.
|
I would go K&N if I were you, those other filters are just like frams, w/o an airbox.
|
Be careful with the ebay filters that have the inverted cone in them, one kid had the cap suck off and get wedged in his throttle body, stuck at WOT in traffic. Better make sure the cap is securely glued on, especially if you have a turbo car, wouldnt want the cap ending up in your compressor wheel.
