my car has a hard time starting, you can hear it sputtering like it wants to start but it just has a real hard time firing up and then finally it will start. It even does this after is has been started and warmed up. And also should I have to have the clutch down to start it because thats how my friends 90' is, but mine will start with it in or out? What are some problems that could cause hard starting besides plugs it has new ones. thanks

Check AFM(make sure its plugged in all the way and working properly), get a compression test, check timing...
How's it run when it is running? |
it runs good when it is running, how do i check the timing on it?
(i've never checked it on a rotary before) and what is it supposed to be at? |
Checking timing is pretty much like checking timing on all cars...
Here a link on checking timing. What do you plugslook like? Have you ever messed w/ the A/F mixture? |
Dead switch may have gone bad, allowing you to start w/o the pedal down. tps may be out of adjustment as well
