I can't believe I've gone this long with the stock ECU! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

In all reality, I should have gone Haltech while doing the original conversion. I wouldn't have had to change ANY of my interior wiring and it would have safed some headache, I don't really know why I didn't think about going Haltech. Oh well.

I like having my 89-91 gauges, etc. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

What gauges would you lose going to a Haltech.

I've got a PocketPC also, PocketDos is like $40 from http://www.pocketdos.com/

I've got the Haltech Software on it but haven't actually connected it to my Haltech, As I said it would be a Bi*ch to do the ALT KEYSTROKES for the menus.

You don't loose any guages, I was referring to how I had to change my guages to '89+ to do my conversion..and I wouldn't have had to if I'd gone haltech in the first place.

In a 2nd gen the only gauge on the engine harness is the water temperature gauge. You can just keep that 1 wire and ditch the rest of the harness.

I know what you mean know. Well you could of used your s4 gauges with the stock harness you had to switch the pins on the plugs at the board on the gauges. I have s5 gauge on my s4 harness. Every day i learn more and more.

what the crap. i dont think i would ever be able to use that thing. So what exactly do you do with that program do you just connect it directly to your ecu?

Rotaryman88 06-27-2002 06:21 PM

The program is DOS based, so for those of you who were spoiled and never had to deal w/ bad graphics and slow processing, then no..the system probably looks like junk, lol. No offense. However, to somebody like me who spent my early teenage years programming in BASIC and using outdated UNIX systems..that program is really great. They are making a new version of software to run w/ windows though...so we'll wait and see it..

..yes, you can run offline or online. If you run offline, you can adjust the maps, etc and save them, then go out to your car and plug it into the Haltech ECU and upload the new maps...if you work online in REALTIME you can adjust everything as you drive. This requires a laptop to be in the car while you are tuning though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

thats tight i like the program its not bad for dos based. I need one of those. Maybe i should wait for the conversion. I know i will just find a tII with a haltech on it already for my conversion.

Rotaryman88 06-27-2002 07:20 PM

a blown T2 w/ haltech for sale.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

I need to find me one of those...the haltech alone would make the car sell for $1000 more then its worth, lol..
