I'm looking at buying a TII half-clip overseas, and was wondering if anyone knows of or has had a particularly good experience with a dealer. Full half-clips with RHD interior, diff and driveline, not just motor sets.

what makes it a half clip? the fact that its the back half of the car?

I always thought a half clip meant no body panels

yeah and theres really no difference that couldnt be changed from lhd to rhd except for the dash forward. the only thing i can think of that would even be different is the place ment of power window switches and door lock operation

Sorry if I was unclear--I am getting a front half-clip with the engine mounted, wiring harnes, ecu, et cetera. The exception is that most companies in this market are really different, or unreliable. They'll sell you a TII for such-n-such a figure, but i'll be missing the hood. Unless you already have a FMIC lying around, it'll cost you such-n-such amount of money for the hood....good for them, shitty for me. Or it'll be missing fenders, aftermarket parts, gauge cluster...blah blah blah.



So does anyone have any real leads?

edit: the diff, driveshaft, tranny are usually included with the front half of the car....

they usually get upwards of $2500 plus shipping for those things, thats alot of money for alot of parts you wont end up using, not worth it if your worried about the hood and body panels either, the odds of getting undamaged panels are VERY slim

yeah any body parts you get are gonna be damaged.

Most of those clips are from Japanese cars that have had some sort of accident. Not sure if its just more economical for them but over there they tend to replace the car rather than repair it. Heard once it has something to do with their laws but Im not sure.



Anyway... Front clips dont always come with the drive shaft and dif also alot of times you wont actually recieve the whole front clip. Shipping on something so large is a nasty thing. Alot of the time they will ask you what all you want from the clip and remove it so they can package it better. The only real bonus I see to buying a whole front clip is that you "might" get some aftermarket goodies with it and if you are into it you can convert your car to RHD I guess.



I personally dont have any experience in purchasing a clip, I only looked into it when planning my rebuild but the cost was just too much for what I would have gotten out of it.

Alright, thank you for your replies--however, I would appreciate responses from people that have had personal experience and dollar amounts for their purchases. I know of reputible importers that sell clips for less than $2500, and send videos of the vehicle running before it is cut. That does not include shipping, body panels, hoods, or aftermarket parts. It is stateside, though....
