Im thinking of buying a GTUS and doing a TII conversion.Has anyone here done this or does anyone know someone who has done it.How much would all that cost for the engine conversion along with the transmission?Do you think this is a good or bad idea I need your guys opinions. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Used motor and a nice salvage yard..u can do it for 2400 to 3000...but if dont wanna stock t2...then add about another 8K for a built motor, exhaust, EMS, etc...lol

I'm suprised no one has mentioned that the GTUs is the rarest FC. That being said, I think you shouldn't destroy a GTUs by doing a swap. If you're really gonna do a swap, use a GXL or a GTU. If you're gonna do anything to a GTUs or AE, it should be limited to stock restoration only.

restore the GTUs which would probably be cheaper....... then sell it and buy a TII |

Once you do a swap like that, is not a gtus anymore cause you have stripped out what makes it so special. It will be another TII. Just by a TII |
I would have mentioned that GTUs is so rare...but it sounded like he was looking at a car that was already converted and was wondering what he should pay for it...if thats the case, somebody else already destroyed the GTUs in favor of a TII...
Honestly though, if I had a GTUs instead of an SE, I would have done the same conversion...at least he wants to put another rotary in it and not some V8 or other piston motor...after all the R in RX7 means rotary...not piston! |
