Recently, my car has carried a low voltage. I've heard that grounding kits can do wonders with your charging system. Does anyone have any experience with them, and if so, have they been worth the price? Any advice is appreciated, and I look forward to many years of enjoyment from my marvel of engineering.

Thanks,

Eric

I know that HKS makes the Circle Earth, and that one other company makes one that you can order in other colors. Oh, Hyperground, thats it.

But honestly, you can make the kits for much less money by purchasing whatever color wire, and grounding at strategic points (Pressure sensor, ECU, motor, injector harness, exhaust, etc...)

I would not spend the 100+ dollars on these kits. Unless ofcourse you are going for show...

I would just get some 8 awg wire, crimp on terminals to the ends, and ground some of the basic things such as the batt - body. Alt - body, engine - body, etc...

Low volt. sounds like battery or alt. Replacing both fixed my problem...But when I added new grounds, my car responded so much better...amungst other things...go to walmart and get yourself some ground wires(4 gauge atleast, dont go smaller), a new terminal and some di-electric grease. Its the best 15 bucks youll ever spend. And ground the ECU too!!!!

Thanks alot guys. Looks like a quick trip up to Wally-World. Just to be sure I don't fry my ECU, where should I attach a ground to it? Just clamp on to a bolt or solder something onto the actual case?

yeah they have some nice aluminum grounding straps and "pep boys" and such for like 2 dollars, and they can carry every bit as much current as a shiny purple 4 gauge cable.

plus it makes your motor look more mean if you ask me. it's like you had to chain it down in there
