You could always weld some aluminum tabs to the top and sides. Then you can use those to mount it.
|
isn't the radiator aluminum? how do you weld to aluminum. turbovr6 said there are special welding rods
|
Special rods and usually you use a MAP Gas to keep thing at the right temp. Practice before trying it and even then it's not the easiest thing...
|
there is a local radiator shop. i'll cut some angle irons then bring it there and try and have them weld them on for me. we'll see what happens
|
You can't weld steel to aluminum.

When in doubt, i use JB weld. :bigok: |
Ill check tomoroww, I know you can weld steel to stainless, because Kooks first put steel brakets on my Borla mufflers, then when they did my system over this year, he put stainless ones on, Ill check about the aluminum-steel tomoroww though because now im getting it all mixed up in my head.

TIG does work better, I've heard of guys using some other sort of MAP gas but I can't remember what it was. I seem to recall someone welding aluminum to steel with a particular type of flux but I can't be certain I'm not a welder just a hack. |

Bleh. It's been awhile and I was never the welder it was my uncle or a guy I worked with on the big rigs. I can do it, just not terribly good at it not enough practice. There was a company out called...oh heck duraseal? Durafix? Something like that, they were producing a fluxless or prefluxed rod you could use with a standard torch and supposedly weld alumnium. Dunno how well it would work, you have to get it awful hot... |

The manual is in the "garage" and I don't feel like looking for it. :P |
