I got it in the mail yesterday. It's pretty damn big. I won't be able to get it installed for a while b/c I'm leaving the country in a couple days. When It's in though... man!

...kind of a pointless post but I'm excited about getting it.

what type of FC do you have, S4 or S5? I got an S4 and plan on eventually getting an FMIC, but it sounds like some modifications have to be done to the front end in order for it to fit under their, unless the kit is specifically for a S4. If you have a S4 I was wondering if you could document what alterations or modifications you had to do to get it to fit. That is, if you don't mind me learning from your trials and tribualtions.

thanks

On the GReddy kit for the S5.. to adapt to the S4 i've seen people use a little different silicon coupler at the TB (maybe longer?) that pushed the pipes out a little farther due to the larger power steering pump..

Someone posted a great site on another board of how they ran the pipes more like on the FD over the top of the radiator area.. looks like you need to do a little cutting and welding but interesting none the less for a do it yourself kit.

I just did mine on my 90 TII. When you do it you'll have to cut holes in the sheet metal by the headlights for the piping to go through(put some weather stripping on the edges of the metal to protect the pipes). You'll also have to cut the front bumper cover down some so that it will clear the core and pipes. Your brake air ducts won't fit back in either. While you're cuting the front bumper cover I suggest that you get some sort of mesh screen to go in the holes to protect the core fins and pipes from rocks and bugs. I had trouble fiting the pipe that goes to the throttle body around the power steering so I just got rid of my power steering and A/C(because it didn't work) to make more room. You also will have to move you proportioning valve for the brake booster. I also dented the pipe a little so it would clear the resevior for the brake master cylinder. There are others ways to get it to fit but it involves cutting the piping and having it rewelded to fit correctly and aluminium welding isn't cheap. Also you'll need to buy an aluminium flange for you BOV and have a hole cut and get it welded on.

Pics please????

Sorry guys I don't have a digi cam to take pics. Trust me though it looks sweet. Once I have the car repainted and the new nose put on/ painted I'll have the guys at the body shop take some pics and give them to me on disc. After that I'll post them up on here.

Here's a good site for pics of what it will look like FMIC pics. Also there's this oneFMIC pics 2.

The second one opted to cut his pipe where as the first one took out his power steering like I did. Take a look at these and you can see where you need to cut and how everything is setup. Hope these help.

I did a custom FMIC project on my old GXL with a TII engine with the stock IC. It was a bitch and I imagine this one will be an even bigger bitch. I have an s5, BTW. On my s4 GXL all i had to do was cut holes by the headlights and bend up the support up for the hood and I moved the ing. coil over an inch or so. Other than that there were no other modificatons performed. It was a total sleeper. The piping was all custom made though. I bought bends from McMaster-Carr and Burn's stainless. Some of the pipes were expensive as hell. A 90 degree aluminum bend from Burn's was $45!!! But basically aluiminmum bends and silicone hose did the trick. It looked pretty clean too.

I don't think more horsepower is gonna make me get more tickets. I'm gonna be drifting just as frequent. I don't speed. I only accelerate to the limit as fast as possible. Two tickets in an FC for me and they're both for drifting.

I'm too lazy right now to take pix of the IC but I'll definately take pix while i'm working on the project. Sorry guys.

The IC is in my room right now. I can't help but look and admire it's beauty. ...man.
