good news: today i got a little sumthin sumthin in the mail...my brand new nopistons.com t-shirt and dual belt alt pulley. man oh man was i excited! i rushed home after work, popped the hood and went to town. dammit it took me a while to figure out how to get the old pulley off though!

bad news: when it was all said and done it looked good, well, kind of. i had only got 1 belt, as i figured the old belt was still new enough to be the same size as the new new belt. i was wrong. so tomorrow morning im off to napa or wherever to rectify this situation.

worse news: i jacked the car up to check out the brakes as they were making quite a bit of racket when i stop now. low and behold the old owner had put the locking nut things on the rims. of course, he didnt give the key to me. i drove to tires plus and they charged me $35 to impact them off and give me new regular lugnuts.

yet worser news: they lifted it there so they could check the brake pads with/for me and yup the back pads are like not there (well almost), the front pads are about 50% but wait, whats this? the tie rod on the pass side is just a slight bit bent. whee.

terrible news: just a tip guys, if you buy a car and the owner tells you that he "just put these new '06 mazda rims/tires on but they are a little big and rub the wheel well if you turn too sharply", instead tranlate that into "yea i threw some wheels on there and didnt check to see if the tires would clear the sprint springs, thus possibly avoiding the tires getting a channel dug into the inside sidewall, forcing you to have to buy 2 brand new tires if you want to keep this car road worthy".

They do fit, even though people say they don't, I've seen one S5 with one of each. I don't have the Ball joints for them, because the ones that came with the car were mint, and mine were pooched so I junked the old ones. They are like 35 bucks each I think...

machineRX 02-26-2007 05:08 PM

no ****, with the retarded "woohoo i just got a sports car! lookit me!!! (proceeds to about 125mph on a backwoods highway)"

lucky indeed.

My roomate chewed into his tires worse than that... we actually weighed the difference (we weigh everything when swapping stuff out) and his wheel/tire weighed 2lbs less than the rest with all the rubber he stripped off.. thats what Tein Suspension w/out an alignment in time will do...
