Well I am finally off to the dyno to tune my car. Unfortunately the dyno shop doesn’t know a thing about about rotarys or haltechs so I will be doing all the tuning.

I have a bnr stage 4 turbo fmic standalone and all the supporting mods.

Here’s what I have gathered so far

Run the engine on the leaner side coming in to boost to help spool the turbo faster

After 7 psi only 12 deg advanced and 11.2 to 1 afr

Gradually increasing fuel and decreasing timing in a smooth linear fashion to 7 psi.

Then run 12 degrees advanced flat (to what ever psi maybe 17 or 18 psi)

If I am still making power can I run my motor to 7500 or 8000 rpm it’s a rebuilt s4 motor with hardened stat gears. Or is this a bad idea? I just wish I had a more useful power band

Anything I am missing?

yeah thats about right, i wouldnt go over 14-15psi though. you'll find thats a lot of ground to cover.

You can run a lot more ign advance than that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

about how much advance do you think is safe

@ 7psi; 18 degrees is more than safe with your setup, you should be watching a thermocoupler to determine max adv. As long as you have fp, enough fuel, and air intakes aren't too high that should be more than fine, keep in mind every engine is different though.

so do you mean 18 deg past or at 7psi

what about making power past redline?
