Like the topic says I'm putting my goal at around 160-170whp for my n/a s4.
Mods done so far: Racingbeat cat-back Racingbeat header Cold air intake (can't remember which one of the top of my head) (also unshielded at the moment) MSD ignition a/c and power steering removed Koyorad radiator Most emissions removed All drivetrain should be good for the power already with the new clutch / flywheel and everything I've installed Streetport (supposedly... I actually haven't driven the car yet.. just bought while I'm still in Iraq but I'll find out on the rebuild) Plans to make the power: Going to straight pipe the cats (yay no emissions!) Holley intake / carb (with including mods i.e. fuel pump etc etc...) If I decide to stay with 6 port... street port primary with a bridged auxilary and pineapple express sleeve inserts or whatever they're called. Exhaust ports ported as well If I go 4 port then half bridge Make new cold air box for the carb'd unit s6 rotors Banzai-racing's rebuild kit with the s6 springs and whatnot ... not quite sure what else I'll need. Also would like to know if any 6 port guys have a similar setup and do your aux ports open? Or is there not enough back pressure and I'll have to do the electric modified ones? Thanks in advance for helping me with my post deployment shopping list. :P |
Making that much power is pretty much what you have there you get like 14 with just headders

Well it's an s4... if I'm not mistaken it only made 146hp stock to the flywheel... I'm looking for 170 to the wheels. |
well if my dyno run was right i was making 192 on my s4 with hollowed cat and 2.25 single exhaust with full advanced timing on a streetported engine
|
just a proper street port is easy to get 180 to 190whp out of the 6 port motor, you can get alot more but you get into the side seal breaking point once over 200 or so. even with the stock intake manifold or a webber carb. not a fan of the holley carbs on rotas.

Few updates to what I've decided because of feedback from the 7club...
"s6 rotors" was a typo... meant s5 n/a I'll be going with t2 housings and porting exhaust Not going carb... sticking to EFI RTEK Make a cold air box for the CAI port match UIM/LIM Upgrading to t2 secondary injectors Street port on the 6 port irons no bridge on aux port TB mod is a maybe... but I've heard bad things about it. More to follow... thanks for the help thus far. |
My buddy had a nice running N/A back in the day,
Microtech ECU Street Ported primaries and secondaries Racing Beat Headers With Pre Silencer and Custom Catback Cold Air Intake FC1000 Ignition Magnacore 10mm Wires And he was around 175 RWHP but on S4 N/A rotors, you should be able to get your goal with S5 n/a rotors and rx8 stationary gears for high revs. Have Fun |
Rx8 stationaries, huh? I'll have to look into those.
Looks like if all he had was that I should be set! Appreciate it. |
I forgot to say he had an aluminum flywheel.
you need to silicone the rx8 stats but its worth it and if you want to squeeze every last bit of power get an rx8 e-shaft i think its like .5 lb lighter have your S5 rotors balanced with the rx-8 shaft which is cheap(like $178 from mazdatrix) aluminum flywheel and a little shot of nitrous like a 75 shot and you will have one nasty little car. I love N/A's and i love power thats why i now run an LT1 engine in my 86 soon to be LS1 again. |
Yeah but how reliable is "ghetto rigging" the stationary?
