Does anyone know if GLX models(86-89) are Available in 2+2 seating arrangements?

ILUVMY88CABRIO 03-28-2003 12:47 PM

I think so. If you can find the rear seat, I think it'll bolt in to any FC, except the vert.

relisys190 03-28-2003 01:05 PM

you mean GXL? yes it was an option to get rear seats... and they will fit into any FC... but like Cabrio said... not the Vert. They are somewhat useless... i mean.. sure if you got kids.. but. not room for an adult

ILUVMY88CABRIO 03-28-2003 01:12 PM

Yup, the 7 is not much of a family car. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

j9fd3s 03-28-2003 01:22 PM

it came as an option on any model except the turbo i think

Turbo had the back seat option. There was just a red 1988 2+2 TurboII for sale on eBay. I pondered bidding on it all the way up to the end of the auction last night. Still second guessing myself.... oh well.

relisys190 03-28-2003 01:31 PM

yea yea! the turbo did come 2x2. but it was VERY rare to see a 'family' turbo II

Another thing. Ever seen a clear sunroof on an FC? There are only 85 Documented and sold with a glass 'see thru' sunroof. Pretty cool eh? Sorry.. i'm https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683621.gif lol just a little info for you FC lovers out there

bigtime 03-28-2003 01:44 PM

my gxl is 2+2... ill sell u my back seats

RXciting 03-28-2003 02:03 PM

lol y would you want back seats.. a 10 year old would have problems sitting in there

???

pengaru 03-28-2003 02:28 PM

yup my gxl is 2+2 also, grey leather interior. The rear seats are out of the car, PM if you want em, in perfect condition.

Leetheslacker 03-28-2003 02:29 PM

4 seaters have lower insurance then 2 seaters i've been told...

M's 03-28-2003 02:33 PM

i saw a glass sunroof on an fc at the junkyard. it had a crack in it though

j9fd3s 03-28-2003 02:41 PM

i converted mine to 2+2

Nemesis 03-28-2003 02:46 PM

No backseat for me.. I don't want that many passengers. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Besides removing the subwoofer is a loss of 50HP, isn't it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

gazellis 03-28-2003 03:57 PM

You would need to do a hell of a lot of modification to fit them into my '87 GXL. Yes they came as an option but I think it will be very difficult to add them if they didn't come stock with them. Behind the front seats of my car are two locking storage bins. My sister used to own an '89 and there is no way they would just bolt in to hers either. I'm still upset that she sold it without telling me. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png

Silver Ninety Three 03-28-2003 04:17 PM

mine is also a 2+2

Outlaw 03-28-2003 04:50 PM

sweet! thanks for the Info, Its so that i can carry my two Lil Bros with me. I don't give a **** if there's room back there(just enough for a sub) as long as i can drive 'em around Legally https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png . I am dead set on getting a 1 gen or 2 gen (whats the difference between a GXL and an SE?)I like the 1 GEN's but you can probably do more to the 2 GEN m'I right? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

pengaru 03-28-2003 04:52 PM

you'll have a easier time finding a decent shape 2nd gen, for obvious reasons.

the 1st gens like to rot

I had that see through sunroof on my 86 base.. I'm not positive that it was factory but it sure looked it. The SE has 4 lug suspension, 14" wheels with single piston calipers and I believe smaller stock swaybars but not sure on that... The GXL, sport, T2, and GTU models have the 5 lug suspension, 15-16" wheels with 4 piston calipers... some of these have a limited slip diff too

CrazyAssRX7 03-29-2003 12:17 PM

relisys190 03-29-2003 08:47 PM

relisys190 03-29-2003 08:47 PM
