I bought a LSD rear end off of a 88 vert n/a. Right now i have an open diff in my car with the 4.10 gear ratio. To figure out the difference would all i need to do is count the number of teeth on the ring? I'm asking this because i do not want to put a slower 3.90 drive gear in my car. I just need to know if i need to take the LSD off of the rear end i bought or if it will be fine to just swap it in? Thanks.

I didn't think that Verts had LSD? And I think the verts had the 4.1 ratio, I'm sure someone will verify this.

All verts had a 4.1 ring gear. If you want to count, it will be 41/10 teeth on the ring and pinion respectively.

mazdatrix also lists all the gear ratios for the diffs and trannies.

I think all verts had 3.9. All manual cars had the 4.1:1. Automatic coupes got the 3.9:1 while they used the 4.1:1 in the auto verts to help offset the extra weight of the vert. |
