I bought a LSD rear end off of a 88 vert n/a. Right now i have an open diff in my car with the 4.10 gear ratio. To figure out the difference would all i need to do is count the number of teeth on the ring? I'm asking this because i do not want to put a slower 3.90 drive gear in my car. I just need to know if i need to take the LSD off of the rear end i bought or if it will be fine to just swap it in? Thanks.

I didn't think that Verts had LSD? And I think the verts had the 4.1 ratio, I'm sure someone will verify this.

All verts had a 4.1 ring gear. If you want to count, it will be 41/10 teeth on the ring and pinion respectively.

I think all verts had 3.9.

it says that the drive gear is 3.9 but nothing about LSD.

mazdatrix also lists all the gear ratios for the diffs and trannies.

All manual cars had the 4.1:1. Automatic coupes got the 3.9:1 while they used the 4.1:1 in the auto verts to help offset the extra weight of the vert.

Ive never posessed a vert diff, so i cant definatively argue my point. But every spec ive ever read says all verts had 3.909. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif
