I am looking to see if there is any interest in a replacement oil filter pedestal which will include two 1/8" NPT taps.

Made from billet aluminum, fitment is same as stock. The pedestal will have a slightly deeper oil resivoir below the filter to minimzie oil spillage when removing the old filter. The overall height of the pedestal will remain unchanged from stock.

Advantages:

-No more using a universal adaptor that rasies the oil filter which in return requires removal of components.

-Has two NTP taps for pressure and temperature.

-Minimize oil spill when removing old filter.

-Fits same as stock!

-Looks really trick!!

Here is a picture of the part.

I am still working the pricing out which is why I did not post it yet. Besides if there is enough interest I will set up a group buy and the prices will be better. As a rough estimate probably in the $65-85 range.

Numerous versions? You want to enlighten me on these numerous other versions you speak of? I am aware of only one other stock replacement that FC3S.Org use to produce and I know they no longer produce these.

banzaitoyota 06-04-2005 09:10 PM

SDJ has one. Oh btw: It also has a feed port for the front bearing. Pineapple also has a similiar piece

BklynRx7 06-05-2005 02:51 AM

Mazdatrix.com also makes a similar adapter for $85

eyecandy 06-05-2005 09:14 AM

I was doing some searching and saw that MazdaTrix no has a pedestal, which from the looks of it looks just liek the old Speedmachine.

banzaitoyota, could not find anything on SDJ or Pineapples. On the SDJ were does this feed port route to? Or how does it route to it? I don't think it is really desireable nor important. On a full out race car I could see value.

inanimate_object 06-05-2005 09:53 AM

I wouldn't be complaining about having too many part suppliers, competition keeps the prices down.

Sorry about the small rant - In Ireland we're hardly spoilt for choice.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I think his efforts are better off elsewhere

I never saw it on their page ( nor in there catalogs I have) since yesterday. No matter what I am not here to argue how long they have beening producing them what other companies are out there producing, I am here to see if any one is interested in the pedestal I am offering.

Rob x-7 06-06-2005 07:37 PM

actually i see yours doesnt raise the filter up as much, so its not the same as the mazdatrix one

I stand corrected

maybe clearance is more of a issue on FDs, I see no problem getting the filter off a FC with the oil block.

FC3s.org now sells their products out of the shop they set up. Thier site is www.speedmachineperformance.com I just bought a pedestal from craig about a week ago. If you wish to produce them thats cool. If you are just looking to buy one their are still some out there.

Run a bigger filter. A filter that is cheaper and easier to find. One that is easier to get to... those are some of the reasons...

how much easier is it then the top of the engine at the firewall?

Isnt it just as easy to get the stock filter is it is any other filter you will put on there will it not? Seems like better things to spend money on then a filter relocation kit?

I find it difficult for me. I have a lot of stuff near that area. With the S5 TII you have to contend with the TMIC, power steering, the brake lines. etc etc. I have to wear long sleeve shirt whenever I change the filter or else I run the risk of cutting my arm trying to get at it.

eyecandy 06-08-2005 11:39 PM

I should have final pricing available shortly, and if there is enough interest I would be willing to setup a GB for the initial release. Post up if you are interested.

eyecandy 06-12-2005 10:18 PM

I finalized the pricing, the launch pricing will be:

$75 w/free shipping to lower 48.

Or

If 10 or more are interested pricing will drop to $65 shipped to lower 48. I will give a few days to see what kind of interest there is before I would setup a group buy.

I am sorry I forgot about you guys. This is what I am going to do. Shipping will be about $16.50 3-4 days and $13.50 4-10 days, which is approx 3-4x more expesnsive than shipping within US. I am going to go with the 4-10 days as my standard to Canada, therefore add $5; so $80 (or $70 if 10 or more) and I will cover the rest of the shipping, sound fair??

eyecandy 06-15-2005 05:22 PM

Anyone else interested?

eyecandy 06-21-2005 11:03 PM
