First, a little history: I recieved a free '91 from the tow guys next door to part out. I was all set and ready to start tearing it apart and I figured, why not test it out and see if it'll run? Spent four days testing out all the ignition and injection components and it all looked good, but it just wouldn't catch. Poked around in the old ClubFC3S board and this board and came up with the unflooding procedure. After six or so tries, she fired right up. So now I've got a free running '91. Took it for a test ride, and the CPU threw code 26. Flash foward to now, I've got the idea to try rebuilding my old pump since I managed to get a known good one as a replacement. I'll go through and check all the circuitry to become familliar with it, and then look towards failure issues. If I manage to get it working correctly again, would there be any interest in this service? This is 100% preliminary, as I'll need to get to know the circuitry first. You may now vote.

Out of the 2 failures Ive seen, one was a siezed shaft coming off the stepper motor, and the other was a failed sensor, which was remedied by just replacing the sensor.

The position sensor was the failure with the one I've got, but I didnt want to start tearing into something for research & repair if I couldn't repair it. Since I couldn't find a sensor, I got a replacement.

Just so you know, those OMP's arent that susceptable to failure, and theyre relatively easy to find and cheap to replace with working used OMP's. Dont think youre sitting on a gold mine if you do manage to fix your broken one.
