How can I tell if the previous owner put in a pump or injectors? I really don't feel like droping the tank and what not. Is there a stock psi level I can check by placing a pressure gauge in the system to tell? Wanna know what all he has done to it because to me he seemed kinda desprate to get rid of it! Maybe just because of the blown turbo. Who knows.

You dont have to drop the tank if you want to check your pump

ReD_TO4b 03-07-2011 08:55 PM

Well I asumed it was in the tank.... I was lookin for pumps and most said in tank style! Ill have to take a look!

You can get to it from inside the hatch area

Yeah inside the hatch area on the left side is an access panel with wires running through it that is where the fuel pump is. remove lid and you will see the fuel lines disconnect remove screws and "surprise" fuel pump

^ exactly best things about imports most have that access panel lol i know s13's and s14's do due to some friends who own them

I would find your local rotary shop and have them check out the car. Jumping into a car with a " big " turbo is asking for a blown engine.

well i don't think i have a local rotary shop closest one would be 100 miles or more! and it runs like a champ just some times i have a hard time starting it when its at operating temp. have to put accel peddle to the floor to start at times. but other than that it seems to be fine to me! 9lbs of boost and runs rich. smell fuel in exhaust when hot.

how difficult is it to place a fuel pressure regulator in? and where is the best place to buy one?

Running rich at idle doesn't indicate anything about WOT. You need a wideband o2 sensor as your next modifcation. If its leaner than 11.8 under WOT then you need a retune. Chances are its way off..

where is the best place to find a wideband? thats some what cheap. im on a budget.
