I picked up an radio shack rocker switch that is rated 10amps for the flood friendly mod, Im tired of getting in and out of the car to start it. But will it be able to handle the current from the fuel pump??

Possibly (I used one like that on my 4Runner).

BUT. It's really best to use a 30amp relay with that switch, and never worry about it. The Seven's fuel pump probably pulls harder than my truck's pump.

Get a relay, heavy wire for the power side, light wiring (whatevers laying around) for the switch side.

if you are going from under the dash I don't think there is any current there anyways as it goes through a few stock relays.

if you are hooking up at the back where the pump is I would use a relay

just hook the switch up to the harness under the dash, it will require

about 6" of wire and will take you about 5 minutes to do and

will not need any fuses or relays

i just reach under the dash and unplug it, i dont even have a

switch

Im putting it under the dash (87 na) I found this on teamfc3s.org> Under the dash, on the passenger side of the steering column, is a yellow relay with a white connector. That's the circuit opening relay, and is the primary relay for the fuel pump. Cut the center wire going to it and splice in a switch, mount the switch under the steering wheel. Should cost you $2 in parts and about 10 minutes of time. If the car floods, flip the switch, start the car, then flip the switch back.
