About a year ago I posted topics relating to my 89 turbo II no running well. I've since had it semi fixed...or what the dealer thinks is good. I spent over a grand to have them fix my car and it was returned to me in this condition.. It starts hard, I have to press down on the pedal a bit. It will idle fine when it gets warmed up. The problem happens when I go to take off. I have to get it to about 3k or it will stall under load. At 3k I can slowly and I mean I could walk faster initially takes off of a corner. Will get up to speed but cannot use 5th gear or it will just shudder and I will loose speed. They seem to think it just needs to be driven to clear things out but I don't want to screw it up if it's running lean. It has a walbro fuel pump but no aftermarket FPR. I've been suggested to get one with a gauge because the oem one may be collapsed causing low fuel pressure. Dealer said it might also have a bad injector. I'm feeling like they have no clue what they are doing and don't want to have them do anything with it anymore. Any ideas?

Ok I figured you guys would want me to pull plugs and see what is going on. front rotor plugs both leading and trailing are whitish insulator...looks like a great burn not rich but not too hot...might be a bit lean...no gas smell...but no oil either. Rear rotor trailing plug had some oil on it but the leading plug looked brand new. That says to me I have a dead injector or something is cutting fuel to the rear rotor. I know the car will cut fuel at a certain boost but this car should be at stock boost and not have to worry about that. I do have another set of injectors that I can swap out but should an aftermarket FPR be installed anyways?

Dealer said they checked compression...as did I and there is no problem there.

I see one problem you took it to the dealer

Hey thanks. That about as helpful as taking it to the dealer. Not everyone has time to fix every problem with their car. Any other smart ass answers or is someone got a helpful idea?

Sorry seen cars come out with new problems and the dealer denied that they cause it i find shops that are willing to work on a rotary do better jobs

Since you have spare injectors handy, I'd swap those out. Sounds like a fuel problem.

I know what you mean about the dealer. They told me to come get the car it was running what they said was an 8 out of 10. I found it to be more like a 4. I think what may have happened was they started it up drove it out of the shop then shut it off flooding the rear rotor. I did the unflood procedure today after swapping injectors around and getting nowhere. got the car to start up but it wouldn't idle so i held it at 2k till it got to operating temp then shut it down. tomorrow I will put new plugs in and change the oil and see what happens.

problem is i'm having trouble finding a shop close by that will work specifically on rotarys that knows anything. Have a tuner friend but he's only worked on one. Might have to save some pennies to trailer it.
