I have an 88 non turbo rx7 and it has been in the shop for about two months now, and i was wondering if anyone knew what would cause the car to give exess amounts of fuel to the rear rotor but none to the front rotor. all fuel injectors have all been tested and cleaned and they all check out. Im thinking mass air flow sensor but want someone elses opinion. thanks

**** your car is STILL in the shop man that sucks just hope they dont charge you something like storage or something once you actually get it out

cammaster2001 04-11-2009 03:51 PM

Yep. still in the shop. he ran a compressiion test. passed. calibrated the tps, passed. ran diagnostic, passed. checked fuel injectors, passed. fuel pump, passed. WTF. its only getting fuel to the back rotor. im leaning towards mass air flow sensor, or the fuel pressure reg on the fuel rail. i know that when i put the fuel rail on the first time, it leaked bad, out of the fuel pressure reg, took the cap off and the screw on the inside had fallen out, so i put it back in. didnt think anything of it. **** now i gotta get ahold of that guy. ha ha **** me.

only thing that can give too much fuel to only ONE rotor, is a bad injector, or maybe the wires got swapped/shorted

the air flow meter would flood the whole engine

cammaster2001 05-01-2009 09:34 PM

ok, got some news. the front fuel injector plug has power, but no pulsing signal like it should be. the injector is not opening and closing. computer has been changed out twice. not the problem. there is a giant hole in the insulation on the hood, im guessing engine fire due to fail of the pulsation dampner. Im thinking it may have burnt the wiring harness thats why two of the injector plugs have already been changed.

So does anyone know where i can get a cheap wiring harness for a second gen non turbo? Thanks.

**** umm pick n pull? but good luck on that MAYBE ebay (ugggg) idk good luck with iti have to do my injector o-rings if its not raining on sunday im getting sick of smelling gas and its raining so i cant have my window down

cammaster2001 05-02-2009 12:13 PM

Oh yeah that would get a little annoying. the o rings arent that hard to replace. it actually goes pretty quickly. i can pull the intake and fuel rail in about 15 minutes. but i have done it quite a few time with how much crap went wrong with my car.

but it would suck to have that fuel run down and catch fire. then you have a messed up harness like mine. haha.

RicerJ 05-02-2009 02:58 PM

didnt anyone tell you to carry a fire extinguisher around when working on fuel and stuff

cammaster2001 05-02-2009 10:16 PM

Yeah. but that depends on what day it is. hahahaha. some days its more like "F**K IT!!! Let that piece of **** burn to the ground!!!"

RicerJ 05-03-2009 01:21 AM

so you still dont have your car. i got mine but this wet weather makes me not want to drive it with that fuel smell coming in
