OK damnit.. I thought the guage was broken, but when I filled the tank up in the mornin to go drive the Vert.. the needle went up.. but now I have driven like 100 miles and it is on "e" again but it goes up to half tank sometimes.. WTF? is this a common problem..?

Is that rim the rim that the dealer said he'd replace it with or is he gonna get you a BBS rim to match the rest?

rmaiersg 04-13-2003 08:45 PM

Oh and my old FC kind had a varying display. For instance on the way to school I'd have less than an 8th of a tank left and then when I drive home it'd be like 1/4 full again. It wasn't totally acurate.

No, that rim is the Skyline rim my friend loaned me.. I have a lead on a shop that might be able to get me a set.. I think I will try that..

oh, yeah he is gonna get me the BBS one..

could it just be a bad ground for the fuel guage

rotary>piston 04-13-2003 10:56 PM

inclines will affect the guage a lot. When in my driveway (20-30 degree incline) my guage will show about 1/4 less than what it really is. Are you going up or down any hills?

anyone know how much you got left when the gas light come on?

RXciting 04-14-2003 01:02 AM

well i put 10L from totally empty and the light was still on level ground so i guess somewhere over 10L?

L as in Liters?

the senders do that when they go bad. it reads fine and then the circuit gets broken and it drops to e. the sender might just be dirty

Well it works now... UH I think you have about 2-3 gallons still when the needle is on E.. Thats how it was on my other truck.. Just trty this.. Next time you are on "empty" go to the gas station and fill it to the top.. you should get like 12 gallons in there... so do the math.. I think the tank is 15 gallons, since you put in 12.. you had 3 when the needle reached "empty"

it might have just had some schmegma on the contact (its a variable resistor, like the tps), and now you put gas in it its fine
