As you may or may not know I own the '79 with the '86 13B and stock EFI, I'm using a walbro 255lph pump, but I'm now running the filter on the inlet side of the pump... Now my car pulls hard to 7,000rpm and that's it. When there is no reason it shouldn't pull to 7,500 - 8,000, could this be the problem?
Also I have a custom made cold air intake that runs to infront of the radiator, would it be benaficial to have the filter mounted directly to the afm? Thanks Shay |
so when you changed the filter location you noticed the problem?

um usually they will peak out at 6500-7200rpms depending on the exhaust. you could try putting the filter on the other side of the pump and see if that matters.
i think the filter in front of the radiator is a good spot mike |
Since I've converted it to fuel injection the filter has been before the pump, I just wandered if it would make a difference if it were after it instead...
Also it's seems to pull to 7,500 in first and second just fine but third around 6,800 - 7,000 it's like it hits a brick wall Thanks Shay |

On the end of the stock rubber boot, but it isn't perfectly level it actually tips downward toward the filter
