I still have the original fuel filter in my 89, with 150000 miles on it. would replacing it make a noticeable difference? I was going to replace it anyway, I'm just wondering if I'll get any more high end power out of it.

Unless yours is clogged real bad you wont notice a difference but im sure yours is so you might be able to tell.
it can't hurt anything. GTUs eh... me like !

I bought my 1st gen with 180,000 and the guy I bought it from said he felt a power gain by changing it.If it is a stock filter you might as well change it to be on the safe side.Just be careful taking off the hoses.
How can you tell if it is original? Was thinking of changing my, have no idea if it was ever changed.
Its a good idea, its only like $30 from rx7.com. Its kinda tricky to change, since the fuel hose is on there damn tight.
Good Rule to follow:
If you dont know when it was changed last, or what it looks like, its a good idea to change it- thats goes for everything on the car. Just buy it from your friendly local auto parts store, no need to mail order it |
dam I change mine every year.... change it!
I bought mine with 63k and immediately changed it, made a nice difference! You are supposed to change them every 30k
