ok kids on a previous post i asked about fuel system upgrades and it was dumb for me to ask with the little knowlege of the car i was buying..but im back like a heart attack with the needed info.. now the the car is mine! ok the question is.. i need to upgrade my fuel system so i can up the bost going into my freshly broke in 13bt that is ported and polished. i also need to know what ecu you recomend (at a good price) preferably stand alone also.. but here are the specs on my beauty of an 88 rx7 tII.
new 13b morotr ported and polished to the 2nd stage specs. 3000 miles custum built t4 flanged turbo stainless high flow 45mm external wastegate with v band turbo manifoldwith wastegate flange fuel cut defencer fmic with custom piping turbo timer electronic boost controler act cluch fluidine rad. electric fan drilled and sotted rotors tein suspention thats all that i can think of off my head now.. but i am looking to push 300-350 hp i dont wana over do the hp since i do road race.. but i wana play at the strip a bit and also a little drift session.. im just looking for an all around fast ass beast.. thanks for your help in advance guys. nick dillon endless excelleration canton, ohio |
dont everyone jump to help at once.. wow

Fuel pump: Walbro 255
Injectors: at least 780cc secondaries, and you can leave the primaries stock if you don't plan on running too much boost ECU: We have a whole forum for that...go read up! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
www.haltech.com are good .. a lot of guys run it, including me
www.getfuelinjected.com electromotiv tec2 and 3 are good...not as many cause theyre moer expensive but very good |
Whats a stage 2 port job? Sounds like a ricer term... Do you have pics of the porting? Any exhaust porting? Upgrade to 1600cc secondaries, walrbo 255lpg and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Haltech or microtech for the ecu.

ok good thing i have the record book...
i do have pic of the port.. but sadly i have no way to get them on here... what the respt says is.. 87-88 13bt remanuractured rotory engine, install gasket sets, clearenced rotors, port and polish intake and exhaust and new rotors. i dont know where the stage 2came from.. its on one of these pages from atkins somewhere.. ok also have paper that says peripheral port 350HP " the powerband is from 5000-10000 rpms. so thats what the motor is... and also i hear that with alot of the piggy back systems, the oem computer on the rx7 finds ways around it. and i dont want that.. im looking for standalone |
What? Its a P-port motor??? Port and polish sounds like a mild streetport...
|
Damn your atkins papers say peripherial port on them?Thats going to be some mad power with the right snail yo!

If it is a P-port, it would also have an intake manifold with throttle body, intake plenum, and I wouldn't have a p-port unless I had some hardened stationary gears, higher oil pressure, and upgraded rotor bearings.
You gotta be able to hit that 12K rpm once and a while https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Microtech all the way for the ecu. Can't really say much about the fuel since I get 3 mpg except fuel pressure is your friend. |
ok the recipt says.. $3,360 and there is another paper withthe perifial port motor on it for 3600.. but the page came from www.mazdacomp.com/rotaryengines.htm
so i reqally have no damn clue.. i paid 4500 for the car from some lady that had no clue what she had.. she had a 93 twin turbo with a new motor and a bad turbo and traded it for this car. b/c she wanted something to drive.. then she desided that this car made a "noise" she dident like (the external wastegate). and that the sparco racing seats were not comfortable.. shes a moron.. and her husband just died of bran cancer.. so she just wanted rid of "the hassel".. but keep me up with the info.. id ask the kid that built it all but hes in florida in flight school.. |

Does your motor look like this, minus the 3 rotor part....

don'tbe running a David Atkins engine hard, cause it won't last,i've torn down a couple of his engines, and i'mnot impressed, these where low mile rebiuldsout of third gens, one of them had only 50 miles on it,the oil control rinsg were shot used bearings etc.it was not pretty.it is nota peripheral Port because you can't turbo a P-Port,tomuch overlap,a p-port's RPM band is from 7-10,000,a turbo motor doesn't need all the RPM,he probably did a streetport.if i were you i would do a compressionn test.you take it when the engine is at operating temp, because Rotaries loose compresssion when they are at temp, make sureit isn't any lower than 80 psi.
