my car bucks wildly when i step on gas i think i am trigering fuel cut some how i need help to fix this problem. It all started when i got one of those hp chips off of ebay i hooked it up to the IAT sensor wires and it started to cut ot like crazy i couldnt even step on the gas with out it even cutting out so i took it off and it still is doin this maybe a short any ideas guys similier problems post if you do know what it is because i am stumped

Take that pos off before you blow your engine up. Check all connections, you might even have to solder them back to get good contacts.

stevengood 04-24-2006 07:50 PM

i took it off and i know i am a stupid wondering dog for buying that pos. but it still does it man im scared

stevengood 04-24-2006 07:54 PM

what is the knock sensor and or did i trigger it some how

stevengood 04-24-2006 08:01 PM

please keep ideas coming because i have no clue as why this stupid chip would do this

iceblue 04-24-2006 08:29 PM

werent you just telling people to **** off on another forum trying to help????

I dont know why it would make a difference if you took the thing off, but just for shits and giggles you might try unhooking your battery for like 10 minutes. Also, as stated above, make sure the connection you made after removing the "thing" is good.

Check to make sure your spark plugs arent screwed up or something.

Other than that i cant really think of anything.

Well, n/a's don't have a knock sensor, and don't have fuel cut. I would try a new ecu.

toplessFC3Sman 04-25-2006 04:09 PM

it wouldnt be like, a limp mode or something kicking in? does it do this at all RPMs?

Yes na's do have a knock sensor.

sorry but no NA 86-91 rx-7 come stock with a knock sensors , maybe your confusing the sensor with something else??

or do you have a turbo engine swaped in or somethin???

if your car is a turbo engine, it would have a knock sensor located on ...s4: on the center iron near the oil filler neck area, then if it was an s5 t2 it would have a knock sensor mounted on one of the rotor housings above the spark plug area.

fc3s4utnv 04-25-2006 08:30 PM

I may be mistaken but my safc instructions had a connection for the knock sensor in a S4 and it does read, my old wore out engine usually stayed about 50 or 60 counts, and the new stays about 10 to 20.

KompressorLOgic 04-25-2006 08:36 PM

a s4 turbo II DOES have a knock sensor,

however a s4 NA, doesnt!

if you check the wiring diagram for a NA and hte pin out on the ECU, the same wire for the turbo knock sensor, is used on a NA for something else, like an emission solinoide or something.

iceblue 04-25-2006 08:49 PM

S4 NA does NOT have a knock sensor.

fc3s4utnv 04-25-2006 10:28 PM

Hmm, I was mistaken then, maybe I should disconnect that wire to the afc before it screws something up.

stevengood 04-26-2006 11:32 AM

yea me and my friends desided to un hook the battery the other night and tape up the wires that were kinked and we have no probs thanks for your time

jwteknix 04-27-2006 02:03 PM
