biggest rainstorm of the year and the mother ******* wipers take a **** in downtown seattle. I had to buy some no touch rain ****, which thank god worked and got me home.
It's something with the attachment of the wipers to the motor, they are just floppin aorund, I can move them by hand. Guess I will have to take it apart tomorrow, anyone else ran into this? |
There is a nylon ball / socket joint where the pushrod attaches to the wiper gearbox output arm, and it can pop off.

Alrighty, so I guess I should start by unbolting the motor itself huh?
|
That might be the easiest way. Even if you take off the grille over the passenger vent inlet, you might not have enough room to get your hand in there to reattach the link. I did it by having the motor not mounted and reaching in the mounting hole to get to the link.

See what happens when you put the steering wheel on the wrong side? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Years ago I was driving back to VA Tech from Jersey, running out Rte. 78 around Harrisburg, PA in my old '73 RX-2, when the wipers started to run slower and slower and finally stopped! It was no fun in a heavy downpour. After the car dried out, they worked fine and it never happened again. Is that some weird ****?
Rain-X is a wonderful product. If you put that stuff on, you really don't need wipers. Wish I'd had some back then. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
Well the bushing on the end of the wiper arm is toast, hopefully I can get a new one from the dealer.
