Well I tried to run my car tonight and failed to meet a couple of the NHRA Rules. I guess that is my fault and I should have checked them.
Cars running faster than 13.8 must wear a helmet. Nitrous Bottles must have a safe blow off valve attached. Cars with open tops, drivers must were a helmet. I didn't have any of these, I was going to run without the NOS, till he asked to see my helmet. :( I spent the day and replaced the o-rings shims on my oil cooler (small leak there) and got it ready to run, Removed the spare tire and mount. But I will be back... |
Damn that really sucks but theres always next time
|
That sucks, but rules are rules. I went to the track tonight as well. Didn't run but I should have. All the bullshit Hondas were running 17's, it was pretty funny.

in NJ have to have a helmet no matter what
|
I was looking at the NHRA Rulebook (Downloaded from their site) and according to it they say 13.99 or faster requires a helmet, Slicks or soft tires require a driveshaft loop, Rollbars required on cars faster than 11.99 and rollbars must be padded near the drivers helmet.
Full of good info. Next weekend I'll be prepared. |

Full of good info. Next weekend I'll be prepared. I think, im not sure on this but its used to hold the drive shaft in place if the driveshaft decides to break. If it does break it cuases alot of damage and usualy takes the brakes out with it but im not sure if im talking about the right thing could be something different that i dont know about. |
If the front u-joint lets go it's possible to do the pole vault thing. The loop keeps the drive shaft from flying out from under the car.
Here's a link to what they look like. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?...archType%3DBoth |
