I've noticed a slight flat spot when the secondaries open on my NA, once I get by it comes alive.

Definetely smells a bit rich, but I don't know why that would be the case.

Any ideas?

Hmm, yea I'm gonna say so.

Thought we had an FAQ, but can't find it.

It smooths out after the flat spot and like I said I can smell fuel, so I'm guessing it's not an injector issue.

When I first got my coupe, I had that problem. I don't have that problem now, but I'm not sure what fixed it. I cleaned up my aux. ports, made sure the actuators functioned properly, had my injectors cleaned, and I've cleaned up my grounds (all done at different times, while doing other modifications).

Yea, I am leaning towards it being grounds in this case. The injectors were cleaned when the engine was rebuilt, either a ground was missed somewhere or it's just bad.

Doing a regroundig is one of the best things ive done for my car yet, thats probably the problem.

you would also need to address grounding the ecu better for the 3800rpm stumble, adding bunch of grounds to the engine isnt the trick for that

phinsup 02-22-2005 08:53 PM

I think I have found the root of this issue, on all past rx7's, on the harness that goes to the alternator and various other areas, there is a flat grounding strap that comes out of it.

I was unable to find the strap connected, however I did find what appears to be a torn off end of it.

Ran it directly to ground, even though I believe previously it went to the block.

I will do some road testing tomorrow and see what's up.

Not to thread jack, but whats a good way to ground the ECU, I really should do it.
