75 Repu 05-14-2003 10:40 AM

I just yanked them out the ripped out the headlight retractor fuse like was discussed on here not to long ago, now the headlights don't go up(purposely) and just shine throught the holes.. Looks sleeker like that..

Baldy 05-14-2003 10:45 AM

who flashes to pass, anyway? I just pass.

75 Repu 05-14-2003 10:49 AM

Yeah, out here in Cali you gotta be sneaky if you let them know you are gonna pass they will probably try to block you .. so like baldy said I just pass..

Nemesis 05-14-2003 11:54 AM

Put laser guns in there... then you can take over the world....

MMMWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

FrestyleFC3S 05-14-2003 12:52 PM

HMMMM i use FTP all the time.....what other car does that , lights down and still high beaming......aweomse...i do it all the time , it might not work all the time but then ill just pass

Dramon_Killer 05-14-2003 03:20 PM

Whats flashing to pass? And are you talking about passing in a two lane road? Sorry i live in oklahoma and unlike cali, rules are much less strict.

75 Repu 05-14-2003 03:31 PM

sometimes slow people are supposed to get on the right lane and they are in your lane (left lane), so you flash them as a courtesy to let them know you wanna pass so that they may move over and GET THE **** OUTTA THE WAY GRANDMA>> hahaa.

Shane.Trammell 05-14-2003 04:20 PM

rx7.com used to have the ftps with integrated driving lights. i dont know if they still do

Shane.Trammell 05-14-2003 04:28 PM

flash to pass (FTP) lenses are the clear lenses that are above the signals and under/infront of the flipups in FCs

theyre theyre to high beam someone when the lights are flipped down

if you dont have FTP u aint cool = FD

Apex13B 05-14-2003 07:42 PM

Put your flash to pass lenses in, even if you have to spend $175 (or just get used ones). Your engine bay will stay cleaner, and if you drive around in the rain and then take a underneath the airbox (or cone intake), you will see a puddle of water by the wiring harness. I dont have FTP's and I need to wash my Apex'i filter about once a month.

RX7 13B 4 UR AZZ 05-14-2003 08:27 PM

68.48 but with no integrated driving lights.

for 2 of thoes it is $136.96 for $40 more i get the driving lights https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Rob x-7 05-14-2003 09:21 PM

first off those lights in those J-spec FTP lenses are barely noticable, they are like 5 watts or some ****, you cant go driving around with them as your lights. Save your money and get the normal ones.

2nd- new flash to pass lenses look great, much better then 2 holes

in the bumper.

and 3rd- I dont hink they arent really lenses for passing. Back in the "old" days, before radar detectors became popular and those detectors that were out cost a bazillion dollars, people used to flash thier high beams to warm traffic coming the other way that there was a cop using radar or sitting on the side of the road, so when you seen someone flashing thier lights, you slowed down. Next time someone is flashing thier lights driving the opposite way, take notice if there is a cop up ahead.

I doubt mazda would call them "cop ahead lights", so thats my take on the whole FTP thing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Nemesis 05-14-2003 09:48 PM

I "flash-to-pass" on the street, I do it on the track too. Just because you friggin New Yorkers "ride- the-persons-ass-to-pass" doesn't mean nobody uses them. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Damn Yankees.

J/K - I'm from Philly https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Rob x-7 05-14-2003 09:51 PM

I just go around, I dont bother flashing or waiting

Dramon_Killer 05-15-2003 01:12 AM

I use my turn signal.

rmaiersg 05-15-2003 08:42 AM

In Europe you cannot pass anyone on the right lane and every once in a while you get an ass that rides in the left lane on the autobahn and you want to go 150 and this jerk is cruising at 80 so you flash him so he moves over. Maybe it's like that in japan too?

Some people also like to flash some one to let them in or turn or something.

There are several reason to flash the brights plus the FTP gives the bumper some movement. It would look pretty boring if the holes were just filled in.
