i replaced the intake manifold gaskets and all the injectors o-rings, seals, and seats. replaced all the vacuum lines. and TPS
heres how it started....put on a front mount. boosted to about 6psi. let off and a few seconds after the rpms shot up to 4000 and the rear rotor was crazy lean. the turbo manifold was glowing on that side. (XS power turbo manifold) i didnt have the BAC vacuum (the large hose one) connected to the intercooler piping then. i do now... my original problem was idling at 4000rpm. got that to drop down to a lumpy idle from 1200 to 1800 by replacing the TPS. now, its idling at 1500 steady without the throttle cable hooked up. when i connect the throttle cable it shotts up to 4000 again. or if i press the throttle linkage with my hand slightly and hold it, rpms are jumping again.... throttle body? BAC? up to ideas... |
Are you certain the throttle body butterflies are not bent and are fully closed?
Anyways, if that checks out ok, you'll have to use some carb cleaner or little water spray bottle and spray away till you find the vacumm leak. Also check the ACV if is leaking if it was removed before. |
ACV? enlighten me....
maybe the butterflys are getting stuck. i havnt taken that apart yet cause i dont have the gaskets... and i went through a whole can of carb cleaner trying that a few days ago...alls it did was clean it up. lol no vacuum leaks found. |
i think i just might remove those damn secondary butterflys too while im at it...
