a while ago muh battery was put on backwards and muh car wouldn't even get spark....after months i finally got tha engine to turn on.....it turns on with no problem except that i have to keep muh foot on tha gas....it doesn't idle....any ideas??....i was thinkin that maybe its cuz its been sittin for about 6 months.....and i did tha atf trick on it....thats wat actually got it to turn on.....but like i said i have to idle so if i get muh foot of tha gas it shuts off....plus muh exhaust manifold and cat got cherry red when i started it....but i figure thats juz cuz of tha atf and carbon...any help or ideas please help....thankz.... p.s if anyone has problemss with there rex turnin on....try that atf trick...it worked miracles for me...

What year/model car is it? Does it do anything else that is strange? I need more info. Please be more specific.

BWHAHAHAH man thats funny! back to the subject, so it won't idle, and u have to keep on the gas to make it idle, but it kills it. What did u do to the car to make it run this way? just the atf trick? Sounds like a vacuum leak though. |
eaither a vacuum leak or try messing w/ ur tps sensor.

check for vacuum leaks first before messing with the TPS. Most people don't know how to adjust it and end up messing up thier car that way. Not saying you are most people. Just err on the side of caution.

cherry red eh? maybe you clogged your cats. The ATF trick fouls your plugs and can **** your cats up. As for the idle, check for vacuum leaks, test your TPS.

You don't have to **** with their adjustment to test them, and they arent that sensitive, just a plain old potentiometer. Grab a multimeter and make sure they're within the specs at least. |
