I found a nice set of turbo's off of a FD, and was just curious if they would bolt up on my FC. I know this has probably been asked, but I searched and found nothing. My car is a 90' Vert, I'm thinking about turbo-ing my N/A, but more than likely I'm going to go with a turbo II motor. I'm really just curious if the fd twins will bolt up, and if they will, will they fit in the engine bay without hitting anything, like the wheelwell, or anything like that.
also, what does it take to convert them to non sequential? |
You cant use the stock intake manifold. The turbos will never clear. You may be able to make a TII manifold work, but the fabrication wont justify the gains. The FD twins are not good enough to be worthwhile to put onto an FC.

ok, thanks, that what I needed to know.
I am still trying to find someone that can fabricate a turbo manifold to use the turbo that I have. this is becoming a pain in the ass because no one around here wants to mess with it, and I can't find anyone online that has a clue what I'm talking about with my exaust side being diferent from a garrett. it is a kkk k27, instead of the 2 oval/rectange things coming into the exaust turbine, it has one big round hole, so none of the manifolds will fit it. all i really need is a manifold that is already made, just with a different flange. I have some pics if that might help..... just lemme know. If anyone knows anything about this PLEASE let me know. I need all the help i can get. |
There is someone that made an adapter piece themselves for the turbo to fit with the n/a manifolds on this forum, I cannot remember right off the bat though.

I think blitz turbo kits use kkk turbos. Did you check them?
|
no, didn't know about the blitz... I'll check into it.
and if someone remembers who made the fd turbos fit, that would be great. |
the blitz uses the same turbo that i have, kkk k27, but the flange is still different, I guess mine has a different exaust housing.
Mine is oem equipment on the porsche carerra turbo, at least thats what I've been told a few times. |

oh ok, thanks.
I guess I'll stick with building a whole new manifold for the turbo I have. |
