project has begun... ETA: beginning of spring.

here are a couple teaser pics of tonight, with a test fit. Looks like were gonna cut the manifold and angle it up a little to use up some of the excess space. But looks like its all gonna come together as planned!

You should have just gotten an air compressor and use the turbo as a motor https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Nemesis 10-23-2003 04:09 AM

What da hell is that turbo from??? It's bigger than your friggin head!

teknics 10-23-2003 07:10 AM

glad to see youre still rocking that misspelled tshirt.

kevin.

vosko 10-23-2003 10:43 AM

Dysfnctnl85 10-23-2003 10:50 AM

kevin.

thanks, had to get some use out of it :(

as for the turbo, its the same as a turbonetics t76

yeah thats the manifold. It looks like im gonna modify it a little for better fitment. It will fit like that, but its a TIGHT squeeze (have to hammer some metal!) ... so i'll just angle it more.

1Revvin7 10-23-2003 04:38 PM

How do you plan on spooling that? Gonna need a bp or some nitrous for that sucker...

sidewinderx7 10-23-2003 04:39 PM

i'll spool it, dont you worry https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

relisys190 10-23-2003 05:08 PM

That's a serious looking powerhouse you've got there.

"Keep up the good work will ya" CHEERS!

pengaru 10-23-2003 05:19 PM

So you plan on running like 30psi?

sidewinderx7 10-23-2003 06:40 PM

not 30... maybe 20-25

Rob x-7 10-23-2003 07:30 PM

I wouldnt cut that manifold.

I would notch the frame out before I cut that manifold, did you look

closely at the welds on the inside of that thing? It would be much

easier to notch the frame out, cut a section out then flip that piece

upside down then weld it back in.

Again I say I would not to modify that manifold!

no? Im thinking something like this ... i will pm you with more info.

the welds inside are beefy and nice, but it looks like i can cut the flang off, grind the manifold to a angle, then weld it back on. Dont think it would work?

Rob x-7 10-23-2003 09:16 PM

I think you need to take a good look at that manifold

and you would realize that what you are thinking of doing

is easier said then done.

It would be much easier to notch out the frame instead, done the

right way it wouldnt sacrifice any strength at all.

didnt Jim tell you how much that manifold cost to make?

its a shame there was some mis-communication, but we took

that to another welder and he also thought it was a shame to cut

it up, trust me and notch the frame.

You cut down and then across, take the piece out, then flip it

upside down and weld it back on.

I am gonna have fun mounting my new turbo too...nice to see another FC guy thinkin out of the box per say when it comes to turbos..none of this 60-1, T3 ****..lol

Oh, and no offense to those of u running those turbos https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

vosko 10-23-2003 10:54 PM

redoing manifold may *SEEM* easier but it isn't

sidewinderx7 10-24-2003 04:17 AM

1Revvin7 10-24-2003 07:26 AM

why dont you get your car running on a stock turbo first, lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

sidewinder- I know it seems much easier to bring the manifold to a welder

and have him hack it up, but push pull or tow your car to a welder and

the end result will be much more worth it. That manifold was fabricated

by one of the top header fabricators in the country.

sidewinderx7 10-24-2003 08:44 PM

Im going to take your advice rob. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I'll knotch the frame rail https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
