Im looking into buying a FCD for my FC as a temp untill i get my boost controller. Now with a standalone FCD, if its set to let me go past 8.5 psi does it ever stop? Or will it cut it at say.. 10? Cause I dont want to install it, then accedentally over boost and blow something. So my question is that, do they have a preset cutoff limit? And what psi?

thanks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif

I think the FCD just tells the computer to NOT stop the flow of fuel. It doesn't limit anything. I don't know if they are all the same, but my Racing Beat one doesn't have anything to adjust.

It changes the signal that the ecu sees. So the stock boost gauge will give an incorrect reading. I'm sure that if the boost is high enough, you could still hit the fuel cut, but if that's the case, your engine would prob. be toast too. Going with a stand alone ECU would eliminate the fuel cut.

To the 2nd gen section.

I understand how they work, but like, does it have any type of fuel cut after so much boost? Cause i dont want to accedentally run like 15 psi or something, or spike it and kill my car.. :(

The FCD won't cut off fuel at any boost level.

It si possible to spike high with the fcd but a boost contoller should fix that. For now though you should just be careful not to spike high and if you do just don't stay there for long.

A ported wastegate will help avoid spikes, too.

If you're not adding any fuel then you shouldn't be going above 10 PSI.
